Missoula Chamber launches survey to address child care problems
Our society kneecaps young parents during the stretch of thier lives when they’re the most broke and stressed out that they’ll ever be with the extrodinary cost of daycare ($9k/yr in Missoula, often more than rent. Daycare is free starting at kindergarten under the euphemism of “education”). At @Submittable, we feel very fortunate to be able to offer 3 months of paid maternity and 1 for the partner plus flextime. And we’re working on in-house care for beyond that. So far we’ve seen a return in spades with anything we can offer young parents.
Caitlin Stainken Buhl was our first team member to have a baby(Jeanette!) at Submittable and has been crucial on helping us form our thoughts on the issue. (We’ve since had 7 more babies with 2 on the way). She had a chance to talk with @nbcmonata about the issue recently.
Nice job @caitlin! Thanks for representing the company.
