Managing your Economic Development (or any other) Organization and Strategic Planning

In a recent survey, MEDA Members stated their two greatest needs for training:

1.) Managing an Economic Development Organization and

2.) Strategic Planning.

Thanks to PPL Montana, the MEDA Professional Development Committee is bringing to Montana LaDene Bowen, Executive Director of the Institute for Decision Making, University of Northern Iowa. LaDene is a former Montanan and excited about helping others in the field of economic development as an avid mentor and instructor. In today’s economic environment, managing an effective economic development organization and strategic planning have emerged as critical components to a community’s or region’s effective development. The purpose of these workshops is to provide an introduction and exposure to key concepts and tools to help shape your efforts. The workshop will be interactive with full participation utilizing case studies, exercises and practical examples on how to manage an effective economic development organization and strategic planning tools focused on results.

Date: August 10 – 11, MSU-B Downtown Campus, Billings

Cost: for MEDA Members to attend entire workshop: $35 if register before July 20th; Non-Members $45. To attend Tuesday (Managing your EDO) only cost is $40; Wednesday (Strategic Planning) only is $35. Registration after July 20th increases $10. Fee includes lunch on Tuesday and all breaks.
