MAPS to produce videos encouraging tourism in Montana
The Montana Film Office funded video productions by students in Hamilton’s MAPS Media Institute http://www.mapsmediainstitute.com/ afterschool program to encourage tourism in Ravalli County. The videos feature Darby’s Logger Days and the Bull O’Rama http://www.matr.net/article-63929.html .
Deny Staggs, head of the Montana Film Office, explained.
"We have the Big Sky Film grant – a grant through the Department of Commerce allowing any Montana production company to apply for funds to support Montana-centric content," said Staggs. "We have our own digital channels, YouTube channels, owned by individual producers – Epic Montana https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PxdTZhmQS8 , which is outdoor and adventure, and The Montana Experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PxdTZhmQS8 , which is people, places and events that occur in Montana. It features independently produced content and we like to fund projects that might fit into those channels."
Staggs is familiar with the MAPS program and encouraged their application for funding.
