Local Leadership – The Key To Vermont’s Success

Smart-Cities-A-Toolkit-for-Leaders-450x240

Happy Holidays!

I hope you are well and looking forward to a peaceful and joy-filled Christmas.

The Director of the Vermont Council on Rural Development is a friend with whom I served on the Partners for Rural America Board a few years ago. Their Council is very innovative and effective, and their new Community Leadership in Action Guide is a terrific resource that is worth a review. It’s a free download (see link below).

Thank you for all you have done during this year of challenges and innovations!

Best wishes,

Lorraine

With the help of Senator Patrick Leahy and some great leaders from around Vermont, last week we launched the Vermont Community Leadership Network. This network is focused on giving local leaders like you the tools you need to succeed – your success is Vermont’s success.

The network will kick-off with a series of free online workshops every other week starting September 15. The first will be about how to host effective meetings with advice about how best to host them online. Register by clicking HERE.

To see the full schedule of workshops and register for others in the series, click HERE.

As part of this launch, we have published a brand new Community Leadership Guide . The guide shares tools, strategies, and resources for advancing leadership and community projects. Click HERE for the online guide or to request a free printed copy.

Finally, as we launch the network, we are asking people to sign-up and to provide feedback on what will be most useful for you. Please take a moment to become a member (its free!) and provide some input by clicking HERE.

The strength of this network lies in its participants. We know first-hand the power of bringing leaders together to share ideas, struggles, and mutual support. As Vermont faces the challenge of responding to and recovering from Covid-19, strong local organization and action is more important than ever. Please consider joining the network today.
