LiquidPlanner’s make-or-break pitch; 6 minutes to sell concept
You could almost feel the nervous energy in the greenroom as Bruce Henry and Charles Seybold waited to go on stage for their six-minute product pitch Tuesday morning.
Henry, "director of rocket science" for Bellevue startup LiquidPlanner http://www.liquidplanner.com/ , stood in the corner practicing the presentation one last time, while CEO Seybold drew on skills from his black belt in Hapkido.
"It is all about the breathing. Just breathe," he said. Seybold couldn’t sit still as he waited to present, pacing through the dark room behind the stage at the DEMO Conference here. He stretched his arms and spread his fingers, noting that it relieves tension from the body.
"Muscles don’t like to sit. They like to be used," said Seybold, an electronic clock with red numbers in the background counting down from six minutes on the first two presenters of the day.
Then, after putting on wireless microphones, it was time.
