Hotter-than-ever summers predicted

Increased greenhouse gas emissions could lead to permanently hotter summers in coming decades, including wide areas of North America.

Large areas of Earth are expected to warm up so quickly that by the middle of the century the coolest summers will be hotter than the hottest summers of the past 50 years.
