Great Falls Groups hope to get online portal up and running – http://www.greatfallsonline.net

Two local groups have teamed up to reinvigorate a community Web portal launched four years ago.

The Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology have relaunched greatfallsonline.net, hoping its calendars, business directory, forums, free Web pages and classified ads will find a broad following.

"Our goal with this new portal is to get the community involved," said Janet Medina, the Chamber’s vice president of communications. "There are no fees attached to this at all."

The hope is that http://www.greatfallsonline.net will top the list when folks do online searches for information about Great Falls. The portal is intended to be a comprehensive source of community information.

"It can be a snapshot to our community," Medina said.

While the Chamber has asked businesses for input on how the portal could be useful to businesses, MSU Tech tackled the technical issues, including a redesign of the site.
