Wyoming is an amazing state with enormous possibilities. I am honored to have the responsibility to be her next Governor. My vision is to set our state on a sustainable fiscal path, to ensure citizens have access to quality education and to provide local communities with the tools and resources needed to thrive. With that approach, we can clear the way for Wyoming people to pursue their dreams right here at home, building an economy that works for Wyoming.

We need to continue to refocus our government to better assist local communities to give them the tools to foster innovation and opportunity, so that growth comes from the ground up. This means providing exceptional educational opportunities for our kids and continuing education everyone needs to succeed. It also means developing infrastructure, like broadband connectivity, so that our communities are fertile places for private industry to take root and grow.

The Endow initiative started an important conversation for our state. Governor Mead is to be recognized for his bold vision in bringing forth the countless individuals, business owners and community leaders who have engaged in this process. Tackling economic diversification is no easy task in a state so dependent on energy revenue. It takes courage to put forth ideas, to challenge the status quo and to ultimately take action. In Wyoming, we “live each day with courage.” It is part of the Code of the West.
