GEDs give young adults brighter future

It wasn’t too many years ago that the 23-year-old dropped out of high school and was involved in drugs and alcohol — and, by his own admission, likely was on his way to prison.

But on Tuesday night, with his girlfriend and three young children watching, Albert received his high school equivalency diploma during a ceremony at Montana State University-Great Falls College of Technology to honor all GED recipients from the Adult Basic Literacy Education program in the Great Falls Public Schools.

"My girlfriend’s parents are the reason I’m here," Albert said. "I’m pretty proud of myself. I feel great about where I’m going right now."
