“Gateway To Opportunity”-a Regional Entrepreneur And Small Business Development Forum, 1/10, Glendive, Montana

Reserve Thursday January 10, 2008 for the sixth annual “Gateway to Opportunity”-a regional entrepreneur and small business development forum to be held at Dawson Community College in Glendive.

Gateway to Opportunity” is an exciting day of seminars that will help new and existing small businesses in Montana and North Dakota develop their ideas into opportunities to strengthen rural communities.

Five different tracks of seminars cover value added agriculture, internet and innovation, alternative energy, marketing and business management. Specific classes include leasing your wind, getting the most from a website, marketing on a shoestring, transitioning to organic and selling on EBay, bio-diesel and winemaking. Other classes cover the business and financial aspects for growing successful businesses.

Twenty-five seminars will be held throughout the day, ending in a Taste of the MonDak Region, food and beverages produced in the area. Display space is available for $40 or if vendors are giving out samples at Taste of the MonDak, display space is free.

Organizers of the Gateway to Opportunity forum include Eastern Plains RC&D, MSU & ND Extension Service, Stark Development, Prairie West Development, Horizons, MT Department of Commerce and MDU. Also many regional and local economic development organizations in western North Dakota and eastern Montana are working together to bring these educational opportunities to both sides of the state borders. In 2009 Gateway to Opportunity will be in Dickinson, ND.

Cost to attend this event is $10 for adults and $5.00 for students because of generous sponsors including the MT Department of Commerce, Dawson County Economic Development, Stark Development, Mid-Rivers Communication, Horizons, Dawson Community College, Southeast MT Development Corp., Great Northern Development Corp,Glendive Broadcasting and Wheat Montana. Registration includes the noon roast beef dinner by the Gateway CowBelles.
