Editorial board: Wyoming Legislature failed to address state’s most pressing concerns during general session

Before the Wyoming Legislature’s general session began in January, this editorial board urged our lawmakers to use their time wisely and to focus on the most pressing issues facing our state – rising health care costs and sustainable school funding. Four schools were shuttered in Natrona County last year in the wake of the energy downturn, and legislators have yet to offer a long-term solution for reliable school funding. Moreover, when polled before last year’s midterm election, Wyomingites responded that their biggest concern is the rising cost of health care premiums.
