Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation announces Montana Folk Festival fundraiser

During the past three summers, the National Folk Festival brought tens of thousands of people into the streets of Butte for weekend-long celebrations of world musical culture, American-style.

With that festival moving on to its next three-year home in Nashville, Tenn., this summer, the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation is committing tens of thousands of dollars to help jump-start its replacement, the Montana Folk Festival http://www.montanafolkfestival.com/ , a weekend-long celebration of world musical culture, Butte-style.

Last week, the Missoula-based foundation announced a matching challenge aimed at Montana businesses. Sponsorships will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the foundation, up to $100,000.

"Contributions made will now have twice the impact thanks to this challenge by the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation http://www.dpwfoundation.org/ ," George Everett of the Montana Folk Festival Executive Committee said in a news release.

Businesses interested in information about the matching grant challenge can visit http://www.montanafolkfestival.com or call (406) 497-6464.
