Clean Transportation Funding Application Deadline Extended!
The application deadline for DEQ’s Clean Truck, Bus & Airport Equipment Request for Applications (RFA) has been extended and will now include rolling deadlines. Please see the new schedule below. If you plan to apply for this opportunity, we recommend registering with the state’s eMACS system this week to ensure you have enough time to successfully complete the application.

This RFA is issued in accordance with the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust (EMT) Agreement for State Beneficiaries. Montana is a beneficiary, with DEQ designated as the lead agency to administer Montana’s allocated funds.

- Apply on eMACS – entities looking to apply must register with eMACS. Once registered, look for the funding opportunity (called an “event” in eMACS) by clicking on “State Bids & Proposals.” The event can be found by searching for “Department of Environmental Quality” in the Work Group Filter or searching for “DEQ-RFP2025-0185” using the Keyword search.

The Clean Truck, Bus & Airport Equipment Program matches funds to replace older diesel trucks, buses or airport ground support vehicles with battery electric, alternative fuel or newer diesel vehicles. Examples of vehicles eligible to receive funding through this opportunity include garbage trucks, street sweepers, bucket trucks, buses or vehicles that service aircraft between flights.
