Butte-Silver Bow commissioners put hold on BLDC money proposal

Debate over how the county should spend about $65,000 from a property tax levy each year has morphed into a bigger conversation about what is and what isn’t economic development in Butte and how to cultivate more of it.

After an hour of comments from the public and an hour of discussion among themselves Wednesday night, Butte-Silver Bow commissioners did not act on a proposal to steer money from the county’s economic development mill levy to the Butte Local Development Corp.
