Bozeman struggles with service industry workforce shortage

As Bozeman continues to grow, business owners say its workforce hasn’t. Some have even had to close down because of the lack of workers.

Bozeman’s nearing the 50,000 population mark. The population increase has added to the pressure of businesses staying open later — but the workforce shortage is real.

On Wednesday, remnants of a liquidation were strewn across the parking lot of Perkins, a former 24-hour restaurant. After 40 years of business in Bozeman, Perkins is the latest restaurant to close due to a lack of employees.
