Montana Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year

Big Sky Finance is proud to have nominated winner, Kelly King of Mountain Hot Tub, as Montana’s 2019 Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year.

Mountain Hot Tub, 100% owned by Kelly King, sells hot tubs, swim spas, saunas and accessories with showrooms in Bozeman, Butte and Helena, Montana. In 1989 after serving in the Navy, King began his career in the hot tub business and over the years worked his way up to purchase Mountain Hot Tub in 2014 utilizing SBA programs along the way.

In 2017, King purchased property and constructed a new facility that consolidated their staff and service departments under one roof and allowed for a larger showroom and warehouse in their Bozeman location. Financing was provided by First Security Bank, a Division of Glacier Bank (Bozeman) and the SBA 504 loan program offered through Big Sky Finance.

Under King’s direction, Mountain Hot Tub has grown into one of the top hot tub dealers in Montana and is highly recognized throughout the country in trade magazines and has won awards for their high standards of customer service.

King and his wife, Shirley, are both Navy veterans and have a handful of veterans that work for them. They believe strongly in supporting the communities they serve. In addition to contributions made to Special Olympics, food banks, animal shelters and family services, they focus on veteran organizations, such as Bozeman’s Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation and K9 Care Montana.

King’s vision, passion, integrity and commitment to veterans, his community and staff is evident and drives his business success! It was a privilege to nominate him for this award! King will be honored during the National Small Business Week in Bozeman later this month.
