A New Take on “My Little Library” – Building Community in Fly Fishing Through the Flybrary

Flybrary

“I’ve once or maybe twice forgotten my fly box on the counter at home. Gotten all the way to my fishing spot then realized I left it at home…major bummer! I saw a flybrary come across my feed last year and said that’s exactly what I needed.

I sent my dad a hand drawn blueprint of what I wanted. He had them built the next week. I was in contact with fish wildlife and parks for over a month trying to get a permit for a fishing access spot. Finally got the permit and put up my first flybrary.

It’s located at Angevine Fishing access on the Blackfoot River. This is just a few miles outside of Missoula, MT.

The second Flybrary was just put up at the Rock Creek Mercantile. This is a locally owned fly shop and super rad place. Located a few miles outside of Clinton, MT, on Rock Creek, a blue ribbon stream.
