Mission West Community Development Partners is a regional public/private economic development organization that serves the 3-county rural/tribal Western Montana trade area. Our economic development efforts include business retention and expansion, business attraction, entrepreneurship, gap/bridge financing, brownfield redevelopment, talent attraction, and community revitalization. Your experienced, self-motivated commercial credit analysis background is sought by MWCDP – a Community Development Financial Institution. Help us to continue to grow our gap and bridge financing efforts to support entrepreneurs, businesses, developers and non-profit organizations throughout Lake, Mineral and Sanders county trade areas in Montana. Responsible for preparing underwriting analysis for new loan requests which includes a detailed analysis of financial performance, ratio analysis, risk rating and identification of key risks and mitigating factors, writes an objective narrative on the credit worthiness of the loan proposal and presents to the loan committee, supports routine servicing actions, market our loan products and development services, and maintain excellent relationships with clients and financing partners. Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending or economic development lending. Requires the ability to maintain accurate records, work with a wide variety of clients and bank partners, and excellent computer and communication skills. Must be detail-oriented and organized with the flexibility to help achieve our overall team mission. Experience with EDA, USDA, CDFI, EPA and SBA loans a plus.

 

Position Summary:  The Credit Analyst works with existing and potential loan clients to develop loan applications; provide credit and financial analysis; works with Business Development Team and reports to the  Loan Portfolio Manager to determine structure and interest rates; assists Loan Portfolio Manager in preparation of client summary for Loan Review Committee and other agencies; and participates in the loan portfolio processes and procedures in conjunction with Loan Portfolio Manager and the Business Development Team.  This position works extensively with MWCDP clients before and after loans are made; directing clients to additional resources within the organization and/or community; and following up with clients to track their progress and growth.

 

 

Desired Qualifications, Experience and Training:

  • College degree in finance, accounting, or business administration or equivalent experience.
  • Preference of direct personal banker or commercial lending experience, either in a banking or similar non-profit environment
  • Strong understanding of financial evaluation tools including ratios, cash flows, break-even points, etc.
  • Strong Word and Excel skills.
  • Skills in preparing and presenting accurate written and oral summaries of prepared financial analyses
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, lenders, investors, other agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Employee must be detail oriented and highly organized.  Position requires an understanding of and/or experience in commercial lending; analysis of financial statements; performing credit analyses; and risk management.  A background in similar organizations that provides support for micro-businesses and developing entrepreneurs and understanding of the the basic elements of community and economic development is highly desired.  Good verbal and written communication skills are required for interaction with boards of directors, public officials, community and business leaders, professional staff and peer networks.  Must also have the ability to structure loan packages and write and/or help assemble business plans and grant applications.

 

To perform this job effectively, the individual should be very comfortable using computers and have a high skill level with accounting/finance, databases, word processing, contract management and/or spreadsheet programs and/or an ability to learn and adapt to new programs.

 

Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Normal office hours are Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.  Occasional evening or weekend work is required. Flexible hours are available with the permission of management.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to travel by car and, upon occasion, by plane.  The employee is regularly required to climb stairs, assist in setting up/taking down conference rooms, computers, screens, projectors, etc and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

 

Salary range $35,000-45,000+ with excellent benefits, professional development, growth opportunities, and flex-time work environment
