The High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) http://www.usaeop.com/programs/HSAP/index.htm is a commuter program for high school juniors or seniors who demonstrate an interest in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) to work as an apprentice in an Army funded university research laboratory.
HSAP is designed so that students can apprentice in fields of their choice with experienced scientists and engineers full-time during the summer or part-time during the school year.
Funding available, HSAP will begin accepting applications on 1 March 2011. The 2011 university laboratory sites have not yet been identified. Please do not wait for this list to post to apply to HSAP. Interested students should apply online by clicking the ‘Apply Now’ button on the menu and specify which HSAP locations they are interested in. If an HSAP laboratory is funded at one or more of your specified locations, your application will be forwarded accordingly. All applications are due by 17 April 2011.
