Chronicle of Higher Education features Montana’s medical program "Growing Country Doctors,"

"Growing Country Doctors," an in-depth article about students from Montana and their struggle to become doctors, as well as the Montana WWAMI program at Montana State University, is featured in this week’s edition (Dec. 19, 2003) of the Chronicle of Higher Education. WWAMI is an education consortium from Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.

Montana student mentioned in the article, written by Katherine Mangan, include Pamela A. Fry of Livingston, Luke Durling of Hamilton and LeeAnna Muzquiz of Polson.

Jordan J. Cohen, president of the Association of American Medical Colleges, is quoted in the article calling WWAMI "one of the most creative, forward-looking and successful programs to address the needs of rural medicine."
