In the Gallatin Valley, where sources like Sourdough have been largely shut off to new extraction for the last 25 years, water is both limited and coveted. And as it spreads increasingly thin, a cluster of farmers, landowners, conservationists and officials are attempting to figure out how to make the most of a dwindling resource.
