Engineers with the Montana Department of Transportation say the installation of more roundabouts coming off Interstate 90 will make for more efficient traffic flow on one of Missoula's busiest routes.

Reader Comments:

The interchange at Van Buren Street is something I am still reticent about praising insofar as how bikes and peds are treated. I wish MDT would simply be honest and admit that bike/ped safety and convenience were being compromised for the benefit of cars and trucks. That may be an OK call, but I wish they would be more up front about it. There isn't a whole lot of bike traffic at the Reserve Street interchange, and this will pretty much assure that there never will be. Maybe I need to get more sleep...this seems like a sort of grumpy response.
