Rural Community Development Initiative Accepting Grant Applications

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced the availability of funding under the Rural Community Development Initiative to help intermediary organizations, including public, private, and non-profit organizations, provide financial and technical assistance to build the capacity of rural communities to undertake projects related to housing, community facilities, or community and economic development.

Grants, in the range of $50,000 to $500,000, must be matched dollar for dollar. Applications will be judged on the extent to which they will build local capacity, the expertise of the intermediary organization, and other community factors. Applications are due by 4:00 pm on October 28.
