Will Swearingen, PhD, and Ray Friesenhahn of TechLink were given "Champion of Small Business Innovation" awards by the Small Business Technology Council in Washington DC.

These awards were given for exemplary work on behalf of the nation’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) community. Swearingen and Friesenhahn were the principal authors of a major economic impact study of the Air Force SBIR program, the first-ever comprehensive economic impact study of any federal SBIR program.

The study was used extensively in testimony before Congress supporting reauthorization of the entire federal SBIR program.

TechLink http://techlinkcenter.org/ is located at Montana State University and funded primarily by the Department of Defense to help the defense research laboratories to license innovations to small businesses to develop products for U.S. and global markets.
