Missoula International School wins big at statewide math and robotics contests

Missoula International School http://www.mismt.org/ had a week-long winning streak, taking home a state title and a regional win. The MIS First Lego League team took home the state title at the First Lego League robotics competition in Bozeman. The MIS Math Counts team had several individual winners and a team win in the western Montana chapter competition held at the University of Montana.

"I am really interested in programming," said McKenna Summers, a sixth grader at MIS. "I think it is pretty cool that you can make a robot out of Legos."

The competition ranks teams in multiple categories, including core values like teamwork, robot performance and a research project and solution which ties into the competition’s yearly theme.
