Why Recent Changes in Social Security Are Unfair

Do Social Security changes in the recent budget act close "loopholes," as claimed, or are they just a further movement of the Social Security system toward an income-redistribution program?

The recent two-year budget deal contained significant changes to Social Security benefit rules. In particular, it restricts "file and suspend" strategies for people born in May 1950 or later and prevents "suspended application" strategies for people born in 1954 or later.
