Idaho small businesses soon will be able to tap $472,334 in federal grants to help them become more competitive and innovative in getting new products to market.

The grant, awarded to Idaho by the Economic Development Administration, will be administered through Boise State University and TechHelp, a local consulting and development group.
Through BSU and TechHelp, small businesses that do not have the money and resources to pay for research and development will have access to those services.
“This grant will reduce the costs and time associated with developing and introducing new products, and in turn keep Idaho firms on the cutting edge of various fields,” said U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo, who announced the grant Thursday.
BSU and TechHelp´s services are available to companies and individuals who are in the concept or development stages of most products.
