Electric-car partnership somehow overlooks Tesla

An impressive coalition of automakers and electric utilities has banded together to create a single, unified system for letting electric cars communicate with the grid.

It’s a practical idea that could help make electric cars a vital part of a smarter electricity grid. You can read more about the project, announced this morning in San Jose, here. Most of the big automakers are onboard.

But apparently, someone forgot to recruit Tesla Motors.
