Montana Resources, Washington Corp. giving $250,000 for fiber optic network in Butte

Montana Resources and Washington Corp. today announced a $250,000 grant to the Montana Economic Revitalization and Development Institute to expand fiber optic network to schools and businesses in Butte.
The grant represents a significant part of the funding for the construction, equipment and launching of a hybrid community fiber optic network. The network will connect all of the locations of Butte School District No. 1, providing high speed, highly reliable, fault-tolerant voice and data transmission, according to a news release.
