The Helena Airport Authority backs away from plans for tax district for aerospace business
May 22, 2013 /
The Helena Airport Authority is stepping back from the idea of funding infrastructure improvements through tax funds to prepare a site for a proposed aerospace business.
Instead, the Airport Authority is looking at options for raising between $825,000 and $850,000 needed for a street extension and water and sewer line work, said Ron Mercer, the airport director.
"The airport will fund it, one way or the other," he said after the Airport Authority’s monthly meeting on Tuesday.
"It’s just a matter of sorting out which direction we want to go," he said.
