Coffee grounds lead to business, innovation for new Missoula company

The next time you drink that cup of coffee in Missoula you may be helping create a flavoring or fragrance someone will savor on the opposite side of the world. Reporter

Dennis Bragg headed behind-the-scenes at a new local company that's on the cutting edge of making money from what we throw away.

You might not think of motor oil and a muffin having much in common but they do as more and more of our flavorings that are used in food products are actually coming from petroleum.

But a Missoula company is out to change that as Blue Marble Biomaterials is inventing the future of food and other products, carving out a piece of a $43 billion business.
