Making it in math – Technology helps scores rise in Montana

Thanks to new technology, Butte High School teachers are teaching math more effectively — and the results are significant.
It’s been about 18 months since new math software arrived in Butte public schools, and the high school’s math scores have increased the most dramatically. The 2011 Adequate Yearly Progress report shows math scores up 6 percent from the previous year, to 62 percent proficiency. The AYP goal is 68 percent.
