California gold: Billings company, Parsec Data Management joins rush to lure overtaxed California companies

A Billings company that has gone prospecting in the rich lodes of Silicon Valley is starting to unearth a few nuggets, and more success could be on the way if California technology companies continue to think that the grass may be greener elsewhere.

The national business press reports that California businesses are fleeing the state as fast as they can get out.

The Golden State’s dead-last ranking in a recent business climate survey is blamed on a number of factors, including high taxes, an onerous regulatory environment and the state’s substantial fiscal woes. A recent survey by "Chief Executive" magazine awarded California with the nation’s worst business climate. By comparison, Montana ranked 28th in the same survey.

Not surprisingly, states like Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah are lining up to court California companies, according to CNNMoney.com.

After making a few trips to the Silicon Valley, Mike Ferrucci, sales manager for Parsec Data Management http://www.parsecdata.com/ of Billings, is enjoying success in attracting business from California. A company that specializes in "organizational charting platform," software used by the human resources departments of Fortune 500 companies, has located its data servers at Parsec.
