The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Missoula-based travel company Adventure Life http://www.adventure-life.com/ has built a brand offering green travel options to customers wanting up-close-and-personal tours of Central and South America and Antarctica.

The company’s eco-tours aim to create unique experiences for clients while taking nothing away from the lands they visit. Instead, practices like using local guides and lodges often have a positive impact on the areas.

"Our goal is to provide a fun and exciting holiday, while creating a better understanding between travelers and our wonderful hosts," its mission statement says.
