Missoula officially enters race for Google high-speed Net project – Vote for Missoula Today!!!

It’s official. Missoula threw its name in Google’s hat in the quest to be chosen as a test site for fast Internet.

Missoula Redevelopment Agency director Ellen Buchanan said Thursday the application has zipped to the corporation, touting the best the Garden City has to offer.

"Missoula is cool and it’s funky, and we need to let them know that," Buchanan said. "That’s the spin I put on it."

Friday is the last day people can nominate Missoula for a Google pilot project offering "ultra-high-speed" connections. To do so, go to http://www.ci.missoula.mt.us and click on the "Nominate Missoula for the Google Fiber Project" box on the left. Buchanan said the deadline to vote is 6 p.m. MDT on Friday
