City Club Missoula speakers detail greenhouse gas cap systems

The key to decreasing carbon emissions is a cap on pollution, Keegan Eisenstadt told Monday’s City Club Missoula http://www.cityclubmissoula.org forum.

"The answer is weaning ourselves off our addiction to fossil fuels," said Eisenstadt, the chief executive officer of ClearSky Climate Solutions. "We need a binding cap that slowly decreases over time."

Eisenstadt said a cap system presents the best chance to successfully lower emissions because the system would set a limit on pollutants. And that cap would slowly decrease until emissions met a low, predetermined goal.
