Business students compete for prizes

Using tools given to them in their business studies, 22 students will vie to create the best
business plan and win $27,000 in cash and prizes at a two-day competition this week in Boise.

The business students from nine regional universities (Are there any Montana representatives?) will identify business opportunities,
develop business plans and present them to local entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

Representatives of Extended Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Akers Capital, Highway 12 Ventures,
the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, the Small Business
Development Center, Holland & Hart, the Idaho Department of Commerce and others will
serve as judges.

The event will start Wednesday when the student teams display their products and services
for judges at the Boise Depot.

The awards reception will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Owyhee Plaza Hotel.
