Montana is poised to be a leader in energy development

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Earlier this year, Gov. Brian Schweitzer http://governor.mt.gov/ and Sen. Jon Tester http://tester.senate.gov/ challenged 300-plus participants gathered for the "Realizing Montana’s Energy Future" conference to identify Montana’s role in the emerging energy economy.

Co-sponsored by the Burton K. Wheeler Center http://www.wheelercenter.org/ , NorthWestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ and Carroll College http://www.carroll.edu/ , the conference brought together national, regional and local experts in the production and distribution of both traditional and renewable energy as well as consumer advocates.
