Colorado Institute of Technology Announces $1 Million Cash and In-Kind Commitment From EDS

The Colorado Institute of Technology (CIT) today
announced Electronic Data Systems (EDS) has committed $1 million in cash and in-kind services
over five years to support CIT programs and initiatives. EDS is the first sponsor to come on board
as CIT establishes a focus on aligning specific workforce requirements with higher education
programs through industry initiatives. As part of its sponsorship, EDS will redesign and manage
CIT’s Web site.

“Highly qualified employees are critical to EDS’ delivery of service excellence to its clients,”
said Mike O’Hair, EDS’ Rocky Mountain region client executive. “EDS is pleased to give its strong
support to the CIT and to the programs that will increase the quality of job candidates available to
high-tech companies in Colorado.”

EDS will support the CIT with a combination of cash and services derived from its broad range
of technology services resources. Initially, EDS will work with the CIT to fine-tune its online
presence, establishing the CIT Web site as a portal for collaboration, and ready access to
research and information relating to Colorado workforce and higher education.

“The addition of EDS is a great asset to our sponsor roster. Their reputation as a leader in global
services is well established. The value received, not only in their cash commitment but in the
contribution of their broad knowledge of the worldwide technology industry, will be of great
value to the CIT’s initiatives and programs,” said John Hansen, president and chief executive officer
of the CIT.

“EDS is much more than just a global services company,” said Troy Todd, executive vice president
of leadership and change management, EDS. “We are a company that invests heavily
in the communities where we do business and where our employees live and work.”

In addition to EDS, CIT industry sponsors include Hitachi Data Systems, Level3 Communications,
Qwest Communications and Sun Microsystems. Funding from current and future sponsors will
provide support for the CIT’s new initiatives.
