Family’s donation kicks off expansion at McLaughlin Institute
June 21, 2008 /
Thanks in part to a $500,000 grant from a local family, the McLaughlin Research Institute http://www.montana.edu/mri/ broke ground Friday for an expansion to make way for new scientists and more mice for research.
McLaughlin originally received a $2 million grant from the Department of Commerce to expand research at the institute. The grant required a dollar for dollar match. So far, McLaughlin’s fund drive committee has raised $1.8 million.
