General Electric confirms Billings, Montana is the choice thanks to Sen. Baucus

“I’ve been trying to recruit GE to open an operation in Montana for years,” said Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont. “Then one of their directors, Jeff Bornstein, was at our Economic Summit in Butte and was blown away.”
The Fortune 500 Company that has been considering several Montana cities for a financial operations center is indeed General Electric and Billings is their choice.
The company, which is actually number six on the 2007 Fortune 50 list, made the news public Saturday morning in the Magic City.

GE unit picks Billings for operations base

GE Commercial Finance, a division of the multinational General Electric Co., confirmed Saturday that it intends to open an operations center in Billings within a year.
Although the company is still negotiating the center's exact location, it will initially hire between 150 and 200 workers, said Jeff Bornstein, vice president and CFO of GE Commercial Finance. Over time it could grow to employ even more people, he said.
