Sign up now for Montana State University online science courses

Registration is underway for several Montana State University online science courses.

The fall semester courses are offered through MSU Extended University’s National Teachers Enhancement Network (NTEN), one the country’s largest and most-established online science learning programs. The courses are designed to help elementary, secondary and community college teachers develop a deeper understanding of science concepts while interacting with and learning new techniques from other teachers around the globe. Some are open to non-teaching professionals.

NTEN’s Fall 2007 line-up includes courses in biology, earth science, oceanography, weather, environmental science, geography, soil science, astronomy and space science. One of NTEN’s strengths is physics, and this semester’s special offering is Physics 403 Special Relativity, which examines Einstein’s famous theory.

Most NTEN courses offer MSU graduate credit, and several include resource packets with CDs, student handouts and other course materials sent by mail. NTEN was created with support from the National Science Foundation and is recognized by the National Science Teachers Association.
