Ripple Marketing http://ripplemarketing.com/ unveiled Flat Earth Imports at its annual open house this year. Flat Earth Imports is a new venture for Ripple, an international importing company that will leverage the firm’s existing skill sets to develop new opportunities.

Flat Earth Imports focuses on identifying, importing, marketing and delivering authentic products to specialty markets. The new firm’s clients benefit from a unique fusion of competencies, empowering them to reach new markets.

This new venture will not mean a change in Ripple Marketing’s existing operations. Flat Earth’s operational model is carefully designed to complement Ripple’s existing model. Ripple continues its devotion to long-term relationships with its existing clients while actively developing new customer relationships.

The initial idea to launch Flat Earth grew out of an opportunity observed during a consulting trip in Italy. In the fall of 2006, Ripple Marketing partners Kitch Walker, Kurt Palmquist and Denise Palmquist traveled to the Italian region of Umbria as part of a consulting team working with artisans and manufacturers. They were invited to participate as part of an ongoing exchange that originated at Montana State University-Bozeman (MSU), and with an invitation from professor Richard Helzer. For the past seven years, members of MSU’s faculty have taken part in the exchange, establishing a rapport with several families, businesses and institutions.

Guests at Ripple’s invitation-only open house were given a sneak preview of Flat Earth’s vision as well as a chance to meet some of its clients. A group of honored guests from Italy were in attendance, and their artisan products were on display at the event.
