Brew club, Brewery partner to benefit Missoula Community Non-Profit

The second annual Missoula Community Brew is sponsored by Big Sky Brewing (BSBC) and the Zoo City Zymurgists homebrew club. The brewery hosted a homebrew contest, and the winning beer, a British ESB, created by Mike Hoffer and David Blake, was chosen as the winner. As the winners, Hoffer and Blake got to volunteer their labor and help BSBC brew the beer in a 600 gallon batch. The profits from the sale of the beer will be divided between the club, and a non-profit charity.

The charity chosen this year is the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project, a local organization that fosters sustainable living practices by providing a tool library, educational and outreach programs, and a community-focused demonstration site to residents of the Missoula urban area. More information about the organization can be found at http://www.mudproject.org

The Zoo City Zymurgists homebrew club has welcomed home brewers and wine makers in and around Missoula, Montana since 1982. Club president John Masterson said: "The Community Brew represents an opportunity to help the local community and promote of our club. Big Sky Brewing has long demonstrated their commitment to charitable causes, and we appreciate the opportunity to be involved. Plus, they make darn good beer."

The beer will be available to the public in the Big Sky Brewing tasting room starting on January 19th.
