Centene moves into new building in Great Falls

After nearly 10 months of temporary quarters and makeshift furniture, one of the fastest growing employers in Great Falls has found a bit of permanency.

The Centene Corp. quietly moved into its new quarters at 2000 26th St. S. this week. The company, which moved from temporary quarters in the Strain Building at 410 Central Ave., also added 17 workers to the claims processing operation on Monday.

"We are moving right along," said Jay Belew, the Centene vice president who oversees the Great Falls center, noting about 45 workers are on the payroll so far.

"We are looking to bring some more people in October," Belew said. "I don’t know the exact number yet."

The Great Falls operation is one of two Centene claims processing centers, where workers handle Medicaid claims under contract with a number of states. The other center is in Farmington, Mo.
