Hard work, luck said to be keys to success- Guy Kawasaki in Boise, ID 4/5

As a key figure in the success of the Apple Macintosh computer, one would think Guy Kawasaki would have the secret of success figured out.

In addition to his well known stint as Apple’s chief evangelist in the mid 1980s, Kawasaki has more than 20 years’ experience as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and best-selling author.

But Kawasaki, whose latest book is called "The Art of the Start: The Time-Tested, Battle-Hardened Guide for Anyone Starting Anything," will be the first to tell you the secret to success can be as elusive as trying to predict the next hot product or idea.

"Entrepreneurship isn’t an exact science," Kawasaki said in a recent interview. "My book tries to make it more of an exact science, but I can only provide the tools. So much of it comes down to hard work and luck."

Tickets for Guy Kawasaki’s presentation Tuesday at the Morrison Center are $25.
Tickets to the daylong Kickstart workshops on Wednesday are $20 and include breakfast and lunch.
