Montana Earns Average Grades on Economic Development Report Card

Experts Cite Employment and Quality of Life as Strengths

The performance of Montana’s economy reflects a mixture of strengths and weaknesses, according to the 2004 Development Report Card for the States. Montana earned a solid C, same as last year, according to the nonprofit, Washington-based CFED. Internally, there was some flip-flopping in sub-score comparisons to those of last year, but for the first time there were a couple of A’s on the report card, reflecting an upward trend, even if only slightly so.
