The team visits rural towns upon invitation, and spends a few days speaking with a cross-section of residents about the strengths, challenges and goals in their community. The team will start its work in Manhattan today at 10 a.m. with a special orientation meeting at the town hall.

They will spend today and Wednesday meeting with the Town Council, touring Manhattan, talking to senior citizens, educators, civic groups, business people, farmers and ranchers and emergency services workers.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, the team will report to the community at a special Town Council meeting, and will preview their recommendations for making the community stronger. In about a month, the team will issue a formal report.
