The City of Bozeman is rolling out a new program called Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH). This program is a commuter benefit that is designed to provide commuters who regularly use active modes to get to work a free and reliable ride home when an emergency arises and they cannot use their original form of transportation for the return trip.
In a letter sent to the FCC this week, SpaceX implored the commission to make this move and make Starlink equipment accessible on school buses. The purpose is to help bridge the country’s digital divide, or provide internet access to the millions of Americans (including children) who don’t have internet access at home.
“Building affordable housing in San Francisco is usually very expensive,” said Muhammad Alameldin, a policy associate at UC Berkeley’s Terner Center for Housing Innovation. “They haven’t built housing for decades. They’ve pushed out all the workers. Now if they want to build housing, it’s going to come at a premium.”
The legislation, authored by two Southern California lawmakers, makes it illegal for recyclers and brokers to buy used catalytic converters from anyone but licensed auto dismantlers, dealers or owners of the vehicles. It also requires more detailed records of transactions involving catalytic converters, making it easier to track stolen devices.
