The conference will kick off at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, with a keynote address by Missoula Mayor Andrea Davis, “Common-Sense Solutions: Perspective from the Frontlines of Montana’s Housing Crisis.”

Through the intervention of NMCDC and NWMT, Amanda and her neighbors were able to purchase their homes collectively, securing long-term stability and sparking a sense of community ownership.
The planning board will hold a public hearing on the draft plan on Nov. 19. The City Council will consider it for adoption in December. Work on the unified development code updates will continue into the spring.

“We’re very excited about this project,” said Fenqjen Luo, associate professor in the Department of Education and associate director of the Science Math Resource Center at MSU, who is the grant’s principal investigator. “All project participants will be supported financially, which helps retain great teachers in high-need districts.”
